For the cast-in-air rotor wheel forgings with a central hole, after the first tempering to reach the mechanical properties, the long-term dehydrogenation tempering at a slightly lower temperature can improve the plasticity and toughness indicators.

Wheel wheel forging cooling process mainly includes cooling method and cooling time. Common cooling media are water, oil and air. The cooling capacity and characteristics of these media have a great impact on the cooling process.

Water, oil and air have the strongest cooling capacity. The circulation and agitation of water further enhances the cooling capacity, and the water spray cooling capacity is more intense. The increase in water temperature reduces the cooling capacity in the high-temperature stage and little change in the low-temperature stage. Therefore, the water temperature of chilled wheel forgings cannot be increased. Impurities in water will greatly change the cooling capacity of water. The cooling capacity of water varies from place to place. The cooling capacity of brine is greater than that of water.
